Community

So many King Frosch customers are passionate about charities and we are often asked to donate wines to raise money for specific causes. Over the years we have helped many organizations raise funds and are proud and honored to help.

Currently we support the Breast Cancer Foundation and have committed 15% of profits from our semi-dry/sweet #671-500 Silvaner in a PINK bottle to go directly to the cause.

Here are some of the other worthy causes we have supported over the years:
Thank you so much for your donation to my Relay For Life efforts! I am proud to have your support, and together we will finish the fight against cancer.

Your gift helps the American Cancer Society save lives every day and in every community, by funding research to find cures and supporting lifesaving services and programs.

Cancer touches us all. Only by working together will we finish the fight.

Again, thank you for your generous donation!

Dear King Frosch Wines:
On behalf of Board of Directors and our KRM families, thank you for your generous On-Kind donation for our 2014 Gala Event Silent auction as well as our wine wall of King Frosh German Wine. Your gift enabled us to help 150 childhood cancer families this year with hope, strength and healing. KRM provides a Hope Chest and financial aid to all the children referred to our program; this along with our Family Navigator who links them to community services is making a difference in the lives of children battling cancer. Our gratitude is best expressed by one of our families.
Thank you so much for your contribution to helping our son return home. Your support means a lot to our family during this difficult time. We have been greatly encouraged by your generosity and our deepest gratitude goes out to you. Thank you for thinking of us in our time of need. Please continue to pray for our son’s strength and health.
At any given time we are providing services to 500 families and helping them on their journey of childhood cancer. Your donation makes a difference in the lives of children battling cancer!

Dear King Frosch:
What a year it’s been – I’m blown away by all that Friendship Shelter has been able to accomplish this year, and it’s thanks to you!

Friendship Shelter’s Self-Sufficiency Program experienced a record high success rate this year at 73%. To date we have helped over 10,000 people take the first steps out of homelessness and into a Friendship Shelter program, and a better life.
Over 26 years ago, when we first began working with homeless men and women in our community, our goal was simple yet profound: help each person overcome the causes of their homelessness and become self-sufficient. Then, as now, we didn’t limit who we helped. If a person was willing, we did what we could and trusted that our work would inspire them to make internal changes.
Our Self-Sufficiency Program has not only broken the record when it comes to success rates, but we’re on track to increase the number of clients we’ve served over last year by nearly 50%.
Our progress has been intentional. Early in 2014, Friendship Shelter staff challenged itself with the goal of moving people through the Self-Sufficiency Program more quickly. Our research had shown that the longer a client stays the better the outcome – but those longer client stays also meant fewer people were served. Our staff wondered if we couldn’t do both: keep outcomes high while graduating more clients through a combination of program restructuring and increased case management. ‘m thrilled to report that the strategy has worked! Enclosed is a chart that illustrates how far we’ve come over the past year. –
In addition to the success of the Self-Sufficiency Program, our other programs are thriving:
This year marked the fifth anniversary of the Alternative Sleeping Location, where on behalf of the City of Laguna Beach we offer the only 45 year-round emergency shelter beds in southern Orange County.
We’ve expanded our programs to include Permanent Supportive Housing for the most vulnerable homeless people in our community. This year, we welcomed 18 men and women home to apartments throughout southern Orange County, and we’ll add three more by the year’s end.
In 2015 we’ll permanently house 14 homeless, transitional-aged youth at Henderson House in San Clemente.
It’s been incredibly fulfilling to see our early vision for Friendship Shelter become a reality. Your financial support fueled this success. Won’t you please join us once again? Your gift will make an immediate difference. Please help if you can.
With gratitude,
Cohn H. Co-Founder
